About the Show:
The pressure is on when the Guv puts two feuding detectives on a mission to lift the lid on 'Generation X.'
Evidence mounts, the suspects work and play hard, they're adrenaline junkies, they're luved up and largin' it, they're caught like flies in a world - wide web, they're lost in a dilemma about which pair of trainers can help them express who they really are.
The Guv wants a result but the detectives have reached a stalemate; their profiles don't match up and the prime suspect has taken a trip to Ibiza. They are about to realise that nothing is as certain as it seems.
Fast, furious and above all funny, this production explores what makes a generation tick. Taking a stab in the dark heart of consumerism questions are asked about the choices we have and the ones might have to fight for.
Reviews:
The pace is furious with echoes of the surrealism of early Tom Stoppard.
(Sheffield Star)
A thoughtful play laced with humour kept the audience absorbed.
(Sheffield Telegraph.)
About the process:
Inspired by a series of video - taped interviews with young people from mixed backgrounds. Groups included disadvantaged young people on various government schemes and the young unemployed.
The interviews explored what choices are really available to young people, their hopes, fears and future plans. There was a free performance of Xposure in a local pub for all the young people involved.
